Tournament Checklist for Host Club
Starting Times: December through March tournaments start at 10 a.m.
April through November tournaments start at 9 a.m.
General Rules: USGA'S "The Rules of Golf and the Rules of Amateur
Status" govern Interclub play.
Interclub Local Rules
Tardiness: A player (s) arriving late to the tee box (or course) will be
penalized in the following manner. If they are prepared to hit from the tee
box before the last player of their group hits their second shot, they can
play that hole with no penalty. For all prior holes missed they will be
assessed a penalty. The penalty is zero score for each hole missed or
deemed missed.
Cart Path Only(CPO): When course conditions dictate CPO the ball can be lifted,
cleaned and placed within one club length, no closer to the hole in the
same course condition.
Pace of play:
Ready Golf When teeing off, the player who is ready should hit his shot
and not wait for the winner of the previous hole to hit first. When you get
to your ball even if not away, check and see if another player is about to hit,
if he is not, then go ahead and hit your ball regardless of position. If one player
has hit his ball in the woods or a hazard or otherwise possibly lost his ball,
hit your ball before you assist in finding his. Continue this way until on the green.
Parking the cart Leave your golf cart at a point where you will exit the green.
Wait until you reach the next tee before filling out the score card to allow
the following players to hit shots to the green.
The Host Club Golf Professional or Interclub Officer will indicate any other
local rules prior to the beginning of play.
Eligible players: Interclub participants are required to be amateurs as
defined by the USGA. A player must maintain a handicap at the club they
represent. If a player maintains his handicap at multiple clubs, they must declare a
club to represent annually to the Handicap Director. Playing for another
club in an Interclub tournament is prohibited.
First time Player: A first time player must have a valid USGA handicap. The Handicap Director will determine the Modified Stableford point quota for a first time player based on his index. In the first tournament for individual and team scores the player is limited to three (3) points above his point quota regardless of his total score. If the player scores over his point quota,
that score will be his point quota for the next tournament. If he is under his point
quota his score is adjusted the same as an established player. A player who has
not posted an Interclub tournament score within twelve (12) consecutive months
is again a first time player.
Established Players: Posted scores will be adjusted by the Handicap
Director after each tournament using the following formula: If a player is three(3)
points above his established point quota his adjusted point quota for the next
tournament will increase one (1) point. His point quota will increase one 1 point for
each additional two 2 points above the first three (3).
Example: If a player has a point quota of thirty six (36) and scores thirty Nine (39)
points his adjusted point quota for the next tournament will be thirty seven (37), if he
is five (5) over, his adjusted point quota will be thirty eight (38), seven (7)over thirty
nine (39) and increases one (1) point for each additional two(2) points scored above
the first three (3).
If a player scores three (3) points less than his established point quota the
Handicap Director will adjust his point quota down one (1) point. If he is eight (8)
under his point quota will decrease by another one (1) point. this is the maximum point reduction.
Example: If a player has an adjusted point quota of thirty six (36) and scores thirty
three (33) points his adjusted point quota for the next tournament will be thirty five (35).
If he scores twenty eight (28) points his adjusted point quota will be thirty four (34) for the next tournament
Interclub Modified Stableford System: Gross score translates to Stableford points as follows:
