Interclub local rules
Tardiness: A player (s) arriving late to the tee box (or course) will be penalized in the following manner. If they are prepared to hit from the tee box Before the last player of their group hits their second shot, they can play that hole with no penalty. For all prior holes missed they will be assessed a penalty. The penalty is a zero score for each hole missed or deemed missed.
Lift, Clean and Place: You may move your ball one club length no closer to the hole in your own fairway.
Pace of Play:
Ready Golf: When teeing off, the player who is ready should hit his shot and not wait for the winner of the previous hole to hit first. When you get to your ball even if you are not away, check and see if another player is about to hit. If he is not, then go ahead and hit your ball regardless of position. If one player has hit his ball in the woods or a hazard or otherwise possibly lost his ball, hit your ball before you assist in findings his. Continue this way until you are on the green.
Parking the cart: Leave your golf cart at the point where you will exit the green. Wait until you reach the next tee before filling out the scorecard to allow the following players to hit their shots to the green.
The Host Club Professional or Interclub Officer will indicate any other local rules prior to the beginning of play.
Eligible players: Interclub participants are required to be amateurs as defined by the USGA. A player must maintain a handicap at the club they represent. If they have handicaps at multiple clubs, they must declare a club to represent annually to the Handicap Director. Playing for another club in an Interclub Tournament is prohibited.
First Time Player: The Handicap Director will determine the Modified Stableford point quota for a first time player.
In the first Tournament for individual and team scores the player is limited to 3 points above his point quota regardless of his total score. If he scores over his point quota, that score is his point quota for the next tournament. If he is under his point quota his score is adjusted the same as an established player. A Player who has not posted a score within 12 consecutive months is again a first time player.
Established Players: Posted scores will be adjusted by the Handicap Director after each tournament using the following formula: If a player is 3 points above his established point quota his adjusted point quota for the next tournament will increase 1 point. His point quota will increase 1 point for each additional 2 points scored above the first three.
Example: If the player has a point quota of 36 and scores 39 points his adjusted point quota for the next tournament will be 37, if he is 5 over, his adjusted quota will be 38, seven over 39 and increases by 1 point for every two additional points scored above the first three.
If a player scores 3 points less than his established point quota the Handicap Director will adjust his point quota down 1 point. If 8 under his point quota his adjusted point quota will decrease by another 1 point. That is the maximum point reduction.
Example: If a player has an adjusted point quota of 36 and scores 33 points his adjusted point quota for the next tournament will be 35, if he scores 28 points his adjusted point quota will be 34 for the next tournament.
